On the 22nd July, the Women’s Group of Centre Afaq set off at 8am for an action packed day in Agadir. The 27 women, staff, volunteers, and musicians headed straight to the beach where they enjoyed paddle boating on the sea – a new experience for many!

They then had lunch which was followed by a performance from four musicians who accompanied the group as they sang and danced.

Following this, the Women’s Group headed to a viewing point overlooking the coast, mountains, and town of Agadir. Everyone enjoyed the breath-taking views, as well as some henna! This was topped off by a walk around the beautiful marina of Agadir and a trip to the supermarket where the women bought presents for their children.

The group returned to Taroudannt at around 11pm after a long but enjoyable day. Everyone agreed that this was a great experience and hopefully more women will be encouraged to join the group. Refreshed and rejuvenated after a successful trip, the women are ready to return to the Women’s Group for an exciting new programme of meetings.

To Marrakesh next year!
