The kids of Centre Afaq cooked up a storm during our Cooking Week lead by social worker Touria. Girls and boys from the centre joined together to learn new recipes, as well as learning about responsibility, team work, patience and respect.

Each day, the children planned their recipes, went to the souk to buy ingredients, and then cooked up some delicious cuisine. Day One involved making starters, including mini-pizzas and salad, followed by a day of cake and cupcake making. On Day Three the children made delicious seafood bastilla, a Moroccan main course of seafood and noodles in filo pastry. Finally, on Day Four, they cooked up a selection of desserts including chocolate mousse and fruit salad. Yum!

This fantastic week was topped off by a trip for the girls to a village in the hills outside of Taroudannt. It was a fun day for all involved and included a walk in the beautiful countryside, games, singing, and yet more food. It really was the icing on the cake!
