This past week marks a milestone in the Street Children Project: 3 identity papers received for 3 of the children!
Without an identification paper, an individual does not exist in Morocco. The person is not given access to school or employment as he or she is not considered an individual. Unfortunately, there is a large number of boys and girls participating in the SCP who do not have these papers. The team of social workers are working extremely hard with the families and the legal system to obtain these priceless papers for the children. It is a lengthy process that involves a lot of patience and persistence to give these individuals a future. With a dozen more children needing these documents, the work continues…
Very exciting news for these 3 individuals!
