Some new faces joined the MCT team over the summer! Meet our new team:
Solène Bourezma took on the role of Social Work Support Officer. Solène graduated in International development in Sciences Po in France. She has experience teaching English in a grass root organisation that works with Burmese children in northern Thailand. She will be supporting the social workers at the centre of Fondation Amane pour la Protection de l’Enfance.
Barb McIntosh took on the role of Country Director. She will provide oversight of all MCT work and MCT/FAPE joint project work. Barb has worked in both East and West Africa in several development sectors, including women empowerment, literacy, research programs relating to the barriers to girls’ education, and HIV-related programs. She is excited about contributing to MCT to empower local people to change their lives for the better.
Marine Brichard took on the role of In-Country Development Officer. Marine graduated with a Master’s degree in Middle Eastern Studies and Nonprofit Management. She has travelled to several Middle Eastern and North African countries and speaks French, English, and Arabic. She has experience teaching French to refugees and fundraising for refugee organizations. Marine will be in charge of expanding fundraising within Morocco and abroad, managing the volunteer project, and developing marketing and communications for the organization.
Sophia Booth has already been working for MCT for a year as Women’s and Children’s Rights Officer. By the end of September, however, she will be taking on the role of In-Country Project Manager: Foster care. Sophia completed an MSc in Children, Youth and International Development at Birkbeck, University of London. Her areas of interest are community-level development and the relationship between women’s empowerment and children’s lives. Sophia will continue to work on the development of child protection systems in the area.
