SATUC Football Cup · Moroccan Children’s Trust
Recently returned from Egypt our football team have had an amazing experience participating in the SATUC football cup which took place at the start of the month in Cairo. They fought the hard fight and came home with some victories but unfortunately some losses. Beating Algeria in their first match 11-0 filled the team with confidence and spurred them on to make it to the semi-finals which was an amazing accomplishment. However, they were unfortunately beaten by England who went on to lose to Egypt in the final.
Coming fourth in the tournament overall the children were overjoyed to take part and experience something so different to their life here in Taroudannt. After the tournament finished the kids were taken on an unforgettable sightseeing tour to see the pyramids and other areas of Cairo. All in all the kids had an amazing time and it was thanks to the hard work of the FAPE team that all of the boys were able to acquire their identity papers in order to have the opportunity to participate.
We also would like to take the opportunity to thank Sheika Al-Thani and SATUC for all their hard work in organising such a successful football tournament. We look forward to next year.
