The Moroccan Children’s Trust (MCT) would like to announce a change in our local partnership in Taroudannt, Morocco.  After discussions with our former partner of five years, Groupe Maroc Horizons (GMH), we have decided to begin a new partnership with a new local charity that will focus solely on supporting our work together – Foundation Amane pour la Protection de l’Enfance (FAPE).

The decision comes after four successful years of MCT and GMH working together to coordinate the Volunteer Project and Street Children Project based at our drop-in centre in Taroudannt – Centre Afaq.  As GMH have been and continue to run several other projects in the local community, this change in partnership signifies a transition in MCT’s work as our projects continue to develop and require stronger and more focused support in child protection and volunteering.

FAPE will be able to do that with its local expertise in child protection and volunteering, including former members of GMH who had already been offering focused support to our work in Taroudannt.  The main change is in the name, from GMH to FAPE and from Centre Afaq to Centre Amane.

We are extremely grateful to GMH for enabling the projects to be as successful as they are today.  MCT, GMH and FAPE all hope that this change will strengthen the ongoing work and provide access to opportunities to support the local and regional communities in new meaningful ways.
